Activities
LLSc strengthens Life Sciences
Linking Life Sciences is occupied with activities that provide an immediate contribution in strengthening the top technological region.
Liking Life Sciences links projects
1. Life Sciences programme management projects
- Listing existing initiatives and publishing them in an (online) Network book;
- Forming a steering committee within which developments occurring in projects and potential collaboration are discussed regularly. Thanks to this transparency, it is also simpler to assess new initiatives and projects based on added value.
LLSc links skilled workers
2. Life Sciences skilled workers talent pool
The labour market for top skilled workers is uncertain. Most toppers find their way to a new job or position via their own informal networking. LLSc wants to utilise this network in order to bind skilled workers to the region and to attract new skilled workers. For this purpose, a talent pooling organisation will occupy itself with organising informal network gatherings for skilled workers.
In addition to this, LLSc wants to join forces in order to decrease the distance between skilled workers and companies from the MKB [Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise]. Within the MKB [Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise], many businesses active in the area of Life Sciences, have the need for (incidental) advice or a part-time skilled worker.
LLSc links trade and industry to education
3. Coordination between trade and industry and education
The growth of the Life Sciences sector hinges on sufficiently qualified labour forces. The supply and education must be coordinated with the current and future demands of trade and industry. LLSc initiates activities that promote this coordination, such as:
- Organising practical training for educators in trade and industry;
- Setting up consultations at regular intervals between trade and industry and education for coordination of curriculum;
- Stimulating cooperation between education and trade and industry, for example, by simulating assignments in practice;
- The collective promotion of Life Sciences to scholars and students.
In addition to this, LLSc makes the market transparent to students, educational establishments and trade and industry by gathering information on all business activities and training programmes in the area of Life Sciences in a Network book.
LLSc links experience
4. Sharing knowledge, optimisation of learning capacity and best practices in the area of HR
In recent years, many projects and initiatives have been started in South East Netherlands to strengthen the Life Sciences cluster, including the establishment of new network organisations such as LifetecZONe and LifeTec Network. New businesses in the area of Life Sciences have also established themselves in our region. How successful were we in this? What are the best practices? And where did things go wrong? By having organisations share knowledge and experiences, LLSc wants to promote the learning capacity of the region and in so doing save money, time and energy.
